‘American Idol:’ Crystal Bowersox might leave due to illness

The road may be over for one “American Idol” contestant before she even has the chance to perform. Crystal Bowersox was taken to the hospital on Tuesday due to what is being reported as an “undisclosed ailment,” and she may not be able to perform on Wednesday night. The women’s performance show was already delayed one day due to Bowersox’s disease, and executive produce Ken Warwick recently delivered the news to host Ryan Seacrest: if Crystal can’t perform, she will be off the show.

Warwick tried to put in simple terms: “If you’re in the Olympics and you’re going for the semifinal, for the final, if you don’t turn up, you don’t get straight through to the final.”

If Bowersox is in fact unable to perform, it would certainly bring about a tragic end of what has been one of this season’s most popular contestants. With her unique style and distinctive voice, Crystal has stood out from a group of girls who are all largely trying to do their best impression of Adele.

We may not know the details of Bowersox’s condition until the “Idol” live show, but I will have more on this situation as soon as it becomes available. If she does make it onto the show, we may as well expect her to get through to the next round on sympathy alone.

After being hospitalized for diabetes Crystal bowersox is back on “American Idol”. Due to her absence the Top 10 girls’ show was cancelled. The show was scheduled to held on Tuesday but due to Bowersox’s absence they had to change it. Judges and other contestants were very happy to have her back on stage. Judges praised her for not seeking sympathy. She was hospitalized and no one was expecting that she would be able to join them on Top 10 girls’ show.
Bowersox sang as nothing ailed her last day and she sang Creedence Clearwater revival’s “long as i can see the light.” Her performance was outstanding and she proved herself once again. She made others to feel that American idol should be won by Crystal Bowersox.
Ryan Seacrest asked her what she felt when its said that that she should be sent home if she couldn’t perform then she replied that she felt good as she is a tough cookie. While performing her voice was incredible and when she finished her performance Simon appreciated her. Judges praised her by saying” “you are the truth. You do what you do,” and they also called her “pure, raw, natural talent.” It’s the first time in American Idol history that the policy of ladies first on season 9 was changed. They did it just to help prevent crystal’s diabetes problems not cut her American idol journey short. Crystal Bowersox performed first on season 9 top 10 women performances.

Top 10 girls’ show was slated to be held on Tuesday, but Bowersox’s absence brought in a switch as Top 10 boys staged on Wednesday.
Bowersox’s return was the prominent subject of the night. Judges praised her for not seeking sympathy as she sang as nothing ailed her last day. Bowersox’s came up with Creedence Clearwater Revival’s “Long as I Can See the Light.”

American Idol is shuffling its schedule to accompany ill contestant Crystal Bowersox – the season’s deadlocked frontrunner – FOX reps announced on Tuesday morning.

The Top 10 male semifinalists will perform tonight instead of the women.

“Due to medical issues which would prevent Crystal Bowersox from performing tonight, the 10 male semifinalists will perform this evening, and the 10 female semifinalists will perform tomorrow night,” the network announced on Tuesday.

Crystal Bowersox: Illness recovery helped by American Idol
When people tuned in to watch “American Idol” on Tuesday, they were actually expecting to see the girls perform. But the show had made a last-minute switchover with the boy/girl schedule, so they got to watch the boys perform on Tuesday instead.

And when they tuned into Wednesday’s episode, they got to watch the girls perform rather than the boys, who were originally scheduled for Wednesday. And the reason, behind the quick change was that Crystal Bowersox had been hospitalized on Tuesday.

The last-minute change of schedule gave 24-year old Bowersox – who’s from Ohio – a bit more time to recover from her illness. While “American Idol” spoke about her illness and hospitalization, they didn’t actually mention what the illness was.

However, recent online reports have suggested that it was in fact a diabetes scare that hospitalized the Ohio mom. And when it came to Wednesday, Bowersox was back on the show performing and impressing the judges in the process.
